MARTIN, Eleanore Edna Marie (nee: La Fontaine) Passed away peacefully with family by her side at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, on Thursday January 24th 2013 in her 94th year. Eleanore was deeply loved by her daughter Darlene (Merv) and son Darrell. Cherished and treasured Mimi to her grandchildren Victoria (Jason), and Robert, and great grandchildren Parker and Xavier. Also survived by her nieces and nephews; Joffraine, Rick (Joi), Joffre Eleanore, and Jack, and several cousins. Predeceased by her mother and father Justine & Leopold Joseph La Fontaine, sister Lorraine, brother Joffre, twin siblings Leonard & Marie, half-sister Lillian, and nephew Leonard. Eleanore was very proud of her heritage, as her family owned the La Fontaine Fur Co. established in Windsor in 1903. A very special thank-you to all the doctors and nurses at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, especially palliative care on 4F, for all their kindness and compassion. Memorial visitation will be held at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME 124 King Street East, Oshawa 905 433-4711, on Friday February 1st from 9:30am until 10:30am. Followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Gregory the Great Roman Catholic Church at 11am. Cremation to take place, the interment will be set for a later date.
