Rompré, Fernande (nee: Deshaies)

Suddenly at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Monday, August 29, 2011, Fernande Rompré (nee Deshaies) passed away with her family at her side, at the age of 77. Much loved wife for 52 years of Fernand Rompré, best mom in the world to daughter Suzanne Nobes, son-in-law Don, and beloved and adored grandmother of Kevin and Emily. Predeceased by daughter Nicole Rompré in 1984. Fernande was the daughter of Germaine and Charles Deshaies, and leaves behind her brothers and sisters - Gerard (deceased) (Alice), Fernand (Marilyn), Rose Aimee Baillargeon (deceased) (Laurent deceased), Paulo (Florence), Marcel (Rejeanne), Francoise Gagne (Maurice), Francois (Pierrette), Pauline Genesse (Jean-Marc), & Julienne. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. Will also be missed by sisters-in-law - Rolande Naud (deceased) (Paul deceased), Gisele Lebel (Jean - deceased), & Armande Dessureault (Guy deceased).

Fernande was born on July 15, 1934 and raised in Macamic, Quebec and moved to Oshawa, Ontario after her marriage to Fernand on September 7, 1959. She made Oshawa her home and made many friends here. Most of all, her grandchildren were her most precious gift. She loved to attend her grandchildren's hockey games and she will be missed this year at the arena.

The family extends their appreciation to family, neighbours and friends who helped us out during this difficult time. Special thanks for the care and compassion of EMS and staff at Lakeridge Health Oshawa Critical Care Unit who took excellent care of mom.

Resting at ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME 124 King St E, Oshawa (905) 443-4711 with visitation on Thursday, September 1st from 2 - 4 pm and 7 - 9 pm. Funeral service in the chapel of the funeral home on Friday September 2nd, at 2 p.m. Donations in memory of Fernande can be made to Lakeridge Health Oshawa CCU or Community Living Oshawa/Clarington
