Moffat, George Edward – General Motors Retiree – October 3, 1953 – August 27, 2016 Passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at Lakeridge Health Oshawa at the age of 62. Loving husband and soulmate to Diane. Son of Peter Moffat and the late Georgina Derkson. Father of Eion and Stephen. Brother to Peter, Marion, Mona and the late John. Brother in law to Dave and Monica Hutcheson, Don and Liz Hutcheson, Denise and Gord Rose, Valerie and Dan Malone, and Dan Sutton. Son in law to Nancy and Alan Parsons and Andy and Doreen Hutcheson. Uncle to several nieces and nephews. He will be missed by all. George was an avid golfer and passionate volunteer for competitive golf tournaments. Arrangements entrusted to the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated, and may be made, along with condolences by visiting www.armstrongfuneralhome.net. Thanks goes out to Dr. Naassan and Dr. Rothenstein and their nurses Liz and Julie for their compassion during George’s battle with cancer and to the entire team in the palliative care unit at Lakeridge Health Oshawa for the care and comfort during his final days.
