George Osborne

George Edwin Osborne, of Oshawa, Ontario, passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Lakeridge Heath Oshawa at the age of 86. George is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jeanne, his sons Jeffrey (Anita) and Drew (Linda), daughters Jill Eymann (Steve) and Jennifer and sister Gwen Muir. He was a cherished Grampa and Poppy to Alyssa, Tyler, Robert, Ellen, Riley, Melanie, Andrea and Jessica. Predeceased by his three brothers Murray, Raymond and Ronald. George loved the outdoors and in earlier years was often seen walking or riding his bicycle around town. Not to be held back, more recently he was quite proud to run the roads on his senior’s scooter. George was passionate about golfing and loved to travel, having had the opportunity to experience many different travel experiences with his wife Jeanne and close friends. In his spare time he enjoyed watching sports on TV, reading the newspaper and when the opportunity presented itself having a quick dance wherever music was playing. George retired from a career at OPG which had followed years of employment at Duplate. He was also a longtime member of the Canadian Corp. Association. A special thank you to the Lakeridge Health staff in the ER, Critical Care, Acute Cardiac and Supportive Care Units for their loving care and support. Also thank you to Armstrong Funeral Home for all of the arrangements. Services for George will be at Armstrong Funeral Home on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at 1:00pm with visitation prior to service time from 12:00 to 1:00pm.
