Gerald Richard Deschenes

DESCHENES, Gerald Richard 1945 – 2017 I.A.T.S.E. Local 873 Following a battle with cancer, Gerry passed with dignity and grace on Saturday October 14, 2017 at the age of 72. He is the beloved husband of Beth Richardson, cherished brother of Claude Deschenes and son of the late Juliette and Donat Deschenes. Loving son-in-law of John & Eleanor Richardson, and dear brother-in-law of Dawn Richardson and Murray Richardson (Bonnie). Gerry will be sadly missed by his niece Audra, and his nephews Myles and Jacob and their families. They meant the world to him. Profound thanks to Pat Ruddy and family, Gabby Kassinger, Dee Lapierre and Linda McIntosh for their unwavering support. This journey was made easier by the kindness and compassion of the staff at R.S. McLaughlin Cancer Centre and Lakeridge Health Palliative Care, especially Dr. Graham. For this reason in lieu of flowers a donation in Gerry’s name to the Lakeridge Health Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Friends may call at the Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East, Oshawa on Friday October 20th from 1pm until service time at 2pm.
