Gordon Boyd Oshawa, Ontario Obituary

Gordon Boyd

BOYD, Gordon Calvert 1952-2014 Our wonderful Gord died peacefully at home on February 24, surrounded by his family after a brief and brave battle with Cancer. He is survived by his beloved wife Caroline; loving daughters Mary and Emily, his mother Muriel, sister Bonnie, neice Jessica Visser, Nephew James and many Boyd and Cuthbert relatives. Predeceased by his father Alan Boyd and brother Noel. Gord had a great life, and gathered lasting friendships as the Boyd’s moved all around Canada during the 50’s and 60’s but finally settling in Oshawa in 1972. His career was automotive sales, but his three passions were his family, our cottage in the Kawarthas and his love for Maui. Gord and Caroline married in Maui 15 years ago, they regularly vacationed on that beautiful island. We are all heartbroken that Gord has left us so soon, but his spirit will never leave us; it will call to us every time our Loons cry at the lake. Cremation has taken place, there is no funeral at Gord’s request. A celebration of life is being arranged and details can be found at www.armstrongfuneralhome.net and communicated by the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the World Wildlife Federation.
