Barnard, James Grant “Jim” – Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Friday December 14th, 2018. Jim leaves behind his daughter Heather (Barnard) Manazir and son Jamie Barnard. Dear brother of Warman Barnard, Hazel Bennett, Colin Barnard, Katie Anne Mattice, Rob Barnard and Eleanor Nafus. He will be sadly missed by Jerry Ouellette, Gene Russo and Rick Butler. Jim will be lovingly remembered by many family and friends. He was a retired employee of General Motors after 38 years of service as a welder. He also served as a reservist with the Ontario Regiment. Jim enjoyed the outdoors and spent many wonderful times sailing, hunting and fishing with friends. He was a member of the Union Rod and Gun Club, Orono Gun Club, the Whitby Yacht Club and Evangel Pentecostal Church. He was also a proud piper. A Celebration of Jim’s life will take place on Saturday April 6th, 2019 1pm at Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East, Oshawa. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s society would be appreciated. For further information or online condolences please visit armstrongfh.ca
