Jean Essex

Member of the Legion Ladies Auxiliary for 64 years, Branch #43. Passed away peacefully on Monday August 21, 2017 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late James Essex. Loving Mother of Shawn, Robert (Deanna), Murray (Shirley), and predeceased by her son David. Cherished Grandma of Jason, Nick, James, Shane (Becky), Cory, Kevin, Ethan and Neil, as well as great grandmother of Reese, Ryker, Riley and Morgan. Jean was 1 of 17 children. She will be missed by her surviving siblings, Velma, Gloria, Linda, Ron and Ted. Jean was an active member of the Northview Seniors, and former member of the Ladies Bowling League “Town & Country”. A special “Thank You” to the nurses and staff at LHO, PSW’s at Paramed, CCAC, and Kidney Care Clinic, Whitby, for all their compassionate care. “Mean Jean” will also be greatly missed by her dear friends and extended family. Friends may call at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME 124 King St. East, Oshawa for a Memorial Service on Saturday August 26, 2017 at 1:30 pm. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
