MASAROVICH, Joseph Joseph John Masarovich, 83, died on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at his home. Beloved husband to the late Evelyn Masarovich. Loving father of Stephen and wife Sandra and Sharon Gordon. Cherished Grandfather to James, Evan, Alyson, Lisa , Melissa, Andrew and Great Grandfather to Quinton, Izabell and Robert. Joseph was born in Chesley, Ontario, the son of Stefan and Maria Masarovich and moved to Oshawa in the late 1930’s. He attended Oshawa Collegiate and Vocational Institute and set to work at General Motors in Oshawa in 1950. He met his wife, Evelyn Masarovich (Ehlar) while working at General Motors and were married for 50 years until Evelyn’s passing in 2005. Mr. Masarovich retired from General Motors in 1993. Joseph and Evelyn were great hockey fans and attended many Oshawa General games throughout their life. Resting at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa on Thursday, 2 – 4 and 7 – 9. Prayers will be held at 3pm. A funeral service will be held at St. Mary’s of the People, 570 Marion Avenue, Oshawa on Friday, April 10th, 2015 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Fund of Canada would be appreciated.
