SHELEGON, Julia
Passed away on September 12, 2013 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. A survivor of the Holodomar Famine of 1933 in Ukraine. Beloved wife of Dmytro, she will also be fondly remembered by her many friends in Canada and Ukraine. Julia is a graduate of the University of Toronto in English Literature, she also worked many years in the insurance industry, as well as a teacher of the Ukrainian language. Over the years she has had 2 publications “Lada” and “Letters Without an Address”, and is also known as her pen name “Vera Vorsklo”. Her poetic talent will be remembered forever. Resting at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME 124 King Street East Oshawa for Visitation on Sunday September 15th from 2pm until 4pm & 7pm until 9pm, with panachyda at 7:30pm. Funeral Service to be held Monday September 16th at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Orthodox Church at 9:30am. Interment at York Cemetery Toronto.
