Katharina Krochmal-Senyk-Dutczak Obituary

Krochmal, Katharina (nee Malanchyn) 1921-2010 Serene and peaceful! Katharina left us on Friday, February 26th, following a brief illness. Her journey continues, her legacy remains. A young Katharina left Horodnytchia, Ukraine arriving to Canada via Germany, in 1948, with her husband Stefan Senyk (deceased). Mike Dutczak and Jakiem Krochmal, husbands, also predeceased Katharina. She leaves behind a loving and devoted family: Walter Senyk (Laurie), Olga Senyk, Natalie Howe (Doug) and Sylvia Weeks (Doug). Baba’s grandchildren lived, learned, loved and shared her life: Katrina, Janna, Stefan, Amy, Timothy and Matthew. Katharina enjoyed a full and active life in Oshawa. She was a member of St. George’s Ukrainian Catholic Church and the Ukrainian Catholic Women’s League. Katharina lovingly catered so many weddings and for Oshawa’s Fiesta Week. She also operated the popular Ukrainian Cuisine business on Bloor Street East, Oshawa. Friends and family may visit Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East, Oshawa on Monday March 1st from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Panachyda will be held at 7:30 p.m. Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. George the Great Martyr Ukrainian Catholic Church (42 Lviv Blvd, Oshawa) on Tuesday March 2nd at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Wolodymyr and St. Olha Ukrainian Cemetery, Courtice.
