RENDALL (nee Shaw), Lois Constance Passed away with her daughter by her side on Saturday October 6, 2012 at Sunnyside Home, Kitchener, Ontario at the age of 83. Beloved mother and best friend of daughter Elizabeth Susan Everest-Rendall and son-in-law Dana Everest of Waterloo, Ontario. Much loved grandma of Evelyn Everest-Rendall and grand-dog Dexter. Daughter of the late Lola and Howard Davidson and Eugene Shaw. Predeceased by husband Gavin in 2007. Sister of John(Ruth)Shaw, Dorothy(Bob) Bunce, Lorene(Jim) Robertson and Helen(Fred) Wright. Predeceased by brother Bryan(2010), sister-in-law Doris(2011), three nephews and a brother who died in infancy. Lois spent most of her childhood in Oshawa. She graduated from Oshawa Collegiate and Vocational Institute in 1947. After graduation, she went to work at Alger Press Company and then obtained a position at Bell Canada. Her hard work and determination led to a successful 36 year career at Bell. While working there, she had the opportunity to work in Newfoundland, Toronto and Oshawa. One of Lois’ greatest passions was travel. She travelled throughout Canada, The United States, Europe, Bermuda, New Zealand and enjoyed three trips to Australia. Lois also loved playing bridge and going to Toronto on shopping and theatre excursions. Lois was thrilled to become a grandma in 2008 and shared a very special bond with Evelyn. Lois raised her family in Oshawa. In later years she moved to Kitchener to be closer to her daughter. Visitation will be held at ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa (905)-433-4711 on Thursday October 18 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Memorial service will be held in the Chapel on Friday October 19 at 1 pm. Donations will be gratefully accepted for Heart and Stroke Foundation, Alzheimer Society or the Canadian Cancer Society.
