Margaret Angiers Oshawa, Ontario Obituary

Margaret Angiers

Angiers, Margaret Anne – Margaret was born on August 24, 1936 at Omemee, ON. She was the eighth child and third daughter born to Stanley O’Neill and Mary Piggott. She passed away in her 80th year, at home, on February 7, 2016. Margaret grew up on the family farm in Emily Township. She very much enjoyed life on the farm with brothers and sisters: Evelyn, Joe, Vince, Don, Steve, Teresa, Willie, Pat, Rose, Albert especially the large family celebrations at Christmas. Despite the great distance many had to travel all were determined to be home at this time. In December of 1954, Margaret married Cecil Bert Angiers (1986). They settled in Oshawa and raised a family of five children; Connie, Peggy, Lynne, Michael and James. She was a woman of great strength, patience, trust and understanding. These qualities combined with her faith in God and church enabled her to face the many challenges life presented her with grace and dignity. Margaret was blessed with 13 grandchildren – Sara, Michael, Nathan, Kevin, Patrick, Rachelle, Jon, Elizabeth, Nicholas, Deanna, Trent, Shannon and Robert and one great grandchild Leighton. The high point of her summer was the extended stays of several grandchildren from Alberta. The cousins created much mayhem and had riotous fun at Grandma’s house. Her home has always been the focal point for the family, where we all gathered for special occasions, celebrations and as the rallying point for the greatest event of our social calendar – the O’Neill Family reunions. Visitation Monday February 15 at the Armstrong Funeral Home, 14 King St. E, Oshawa. Hours are 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 am Tuesday, February 16 at St. Mary of the Peoples’ Church, 570 Marion Ave., Oshawa. Interment to follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, 355 Taunton Rd. E, Whitby. Reception following at the hall adjoining St. Mary’s. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations can be made to The Parish Hall Restoration Fund payable to Knights of Columbus, Council 8911 mailed to St. Luke’s Church, 340 St, Luke’s Road, Lindsay, Ontario, K9V 4R5
