Mary Collins Oshawa, Ontario Obituary

Mary Collins

Mary Jeanne Collins, known as "Bea" to her family and friends, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 15, 2015 at Hillsdale Terraces where she had been a resident since 2003. Much loved by the staff there and regarded as sweet, funny and witty, they too will miss her smiling face and her love of music. Mary leaves behind her two daughters, Lynda Sauriol, of Oshawa, and Angela Muir Durruthy ( Edward Durruthy) of Windermere, Florida, and two grandchildren, Bryan Sauriol, of Courtice, and Desiree Nicole Durruthy, of Winter Garden, Florida. She also leaves behind a niece, Jane (and Richard Karwat) and their daughter Carolyn Karwat and her three children, as well as a nephew, Daniel Kewley (and Cindy) and his daughter Olivia (and Randy Carswell) and their two children. Born in Redditt, Ontario near Manitoba, Mary moved to Oshawa in her late teens and worked in the munitions plant in Ajax during the war. She later moved to Rochester, New York with her husband and raised her daughters there. Florida was her favorite place to live, where she settled later in life and that is where her ashes will be spread at a ceremony in the spring. A wonderful, fun loving and generous woman with dignity and grace, please keep Mary in your thoughts and prayers and may she rest in peace.
