Mary Ellen McGregor (Westcott) of Oshawa passed away peacefully surrounded by her husband and children on May 1st, 2015 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, following a valiant battle with cancer. She will be deeply missed by her husband Cameron of 36 years and her two loving daughters Megan and Christina, as well as her beloved cat Copper. Predeceased by her father William Westcott and mother Audrey Westover (Babcock). She is survived by her two sisters Peggy (Rick) Lyon and Nancy (Mike) Oshier. Born August 10, 1944 in Malone NY she discovered her passion for teaching at a young age. She began her career first at Brasher Falls before moving to Canada where she continued to teach at Courtice S.S. for 30 years, and then another 12 years as a substitute teacher. She will be sorely missed by her many other family members, cottage family at Hopkins Point and her friends at the O.L.T. The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses of 6C for their efforts and compassion over her final days. Thanks to the Hearth Place community for its continued support over the 13 years of her cancer battle.
