GATES, Maxine (nee: Mullen) It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Maxine Gates, on August 9, 2012, at the age of 84 years. Beloved wife of the late John Gates. Loving mother of Judy Dove, Joan, Johnny (Margaret), Joey, Joel and Jules Gates, and Janis Mullins (Jon). Cherished grandmother of Joelle (Brian), Mandy (Chris), Kim, Anson (Vanessa), Michael (Sherrie), John (Danielle), Aaron (Danielle), Liam, and Jenna. Great grandmother of 8 great grandchildren. Predeceased by brothers; John, Elmer, Pat, and Morley, and sisters; Gladys “Toots”, Maureen, and Ruth. Also predeceased by her parents Ida Mae and John Mullen. Is survived by her sister Doreen (Glen) Dobbs, and sister-in-laws Mary, Chick, and Geraldine Mullen. Special Thank-you to Maxine’s team of Doctors and Nurses from Toronto General and Lakeridge Health Oshawa. Burial of cremated remains at St. Gregory’s Catholic Cemetery following the mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Maxine’s memory will be greatly appreciated to the St. Gregory’s Building Fund.
