Murray Townsend

Murray (Ted) Townsend August 20, 1944 - January 15, 2013 Suddenly, at home in Oshawa, Ted succumbed to heart disease. He is survived by his mother Ruth Townsend, his children Jennifer (Dave Watson) and Craig (Claire), and his grandchildren Max, Grace and Lisle. He is also survived by his long time companion Claire Knapp. He will be fondly remembered by his extended family: his brother Richard (Sharon) of Dallas Texas, and their daughters Sarah (Eli Desouza) of Vail, Colo., and Jessie (Fred Scruton and son Nolan) of Allen, Texas, his sister Leslie (Peter Joynt) and their sons Cameron (Saei) and David, of Toronto, and his sister Mary (Graham Clark) of Pickering and their children Colin (Laura and children Fiona and James) of Uxbridge and Lisa (Myles DeRosse) of Seattle. A memorial service and celebration of his life was held at Armstrong Funeral Home, Oshawa, on Sunday Jan. 20, 2013. Cremation has taken place and interment will follow at Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Whitby at a later date In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
