Passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday June 17, 2018 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, in his 79th year. Predeceased by his parents Albert Irwin & Elenor Hunter. Beloved husband of 56 years of June Irwin. Loving father of John Irwin, Katherine Michelson (Chris), Ron Irwin (Angie), Julia Fillion (Gerald), Christine McGillivray (Derek) and the late Judith Irwin. Cherished grandfather of Kevin Fillion, Justin Fillion, Kaitlyn Michelson, Lucas Michelson, Mitchelle McGillivray, William McGillivray, Ethan McGillivray, and Cassidy Irwin. Dear brother of Ken Irwin (Muriel), and the late Robert Irwin (Carolyn), Carol Herns, and Patricia Irwin. Ronald was a hoisting engineer at LASCO Steel for over 37 Years, a career that he truly enjoyed. Friends may call at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME 124 King Street East, Oshawa for visitation on Wednesday June 20th from 2pm-4pm & 6pm-8pm, Rosary Service at 6pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Gertrude’s Roman Catholic Church Oshawa on Thursday June 21st at 11:30am. Interment will be held on Friday June 22nd at 1:00PM at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Bedford, ON.
