Hlynka-Abramczuk, Rose - Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Wednesday January 11th, 2017. Predeceased by her Husband Dmytro Hlynka 2013 and John Abramczuk 1956. Rose leaves behind her sons Peter Abramczuk (Heather) and Steve Abramczuk (Carol Hobbs). Predeceased by her son Jerry Abramczuk (2014). Loving baba to Mike (Tammy), Lynn (Pete), David, Mary (Mark), Betty Rose (Chris), Sarah, Lee (Jill) and 9 great grandchildren. Rose will be lovingly remembered by all of her family and friends both here and in Ukraine. A devout member of her parish, St. George the Great Martyr Ukrainian Catholic Church, choir member and lifelong volunteer at the parish hall. Rose was awarded the Order of Canada for 50 years of volunteer work. She received the Communities in Bloom Award for Oshawa. She was an outgoing, kind and gentle lady who loved her family, friends and community. The family would like to thank the staff at Lakeridge Health Oshawa 4F Palliative Care for the comfort they gave to Rose. Resting at Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East, Oshawa with visitation on Tuesday January 17th from 2pm-4pm & 7pm-9pm. Panachayda will be held on Tuesday at 7:30pm. Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at St. George the Great Martyr Ukrainian Catholic Church on Wednesday January 18th, 2017 at 11am. Interment to follow at St. Wolodymyr & St. Olha Cemetery. Memorial donations to St. George the Great Martyr Ukrainian Catholic Church would be appreciated by the family.
