Warnar Spyker

Warnar Spyker Passed away at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, on Sunday August 11, 2019 at the age of 86 years. Beloved husband to the late Beverly (nee Nienkirchen, March, 2018); and Loved father to Adri. Brother to Arjen Benno Spyker (Marlene Spyker), and Geert Spyker. As a youngster, Warnar would watch the ships sail from his home country, The Netherlands, to far away places. His longing for adventure took him to Canada at the age of seventeen. There he worked for several years and then joined the Canadian Army to became a Guardsman for the 1st Battalion, Canadian Guards. While enjoying his stint in the military, he met the love of his life and decided to leave to get married and pursue a career in an even deeper desire - to help people. Warnar finished High School in Canada, and later graduated from Emmanuel Bible College. Called to overseas missions, he served in Belgium and The Netherlands. Back in Canada the work continued with the College and Careers. Warnar relished working with students, respecting them and gently mentoring them. Even in his later years, he continued to kindly ask people about their lives and encourage them any way he could. His curious, respectful, and gracious nature will be missed by so many. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial gathering to Celebrate Warnar’s life will be held at Paris Presbyterian Church (164 Grand River St. N. Paris) on Thursday August 15, 2019 from 10:30 - 11:30 AM.
