BENNETT, James “Jim” - Past Owner of Bennett Travel Services, Past Chairman of the Board of the Pembroke General Hospital, Former Vice-President of Eddy Match and Steel Equipment and a member of the building committee of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish. Jim enjoyed golfing and had a passion for bridge being a past member of the Pembroke Bridge Club.- Peacefully at Marianhill on Wednesday, February 6th, 2019 in his 94th year. Jim Bennett of Pembroke, beloved husband of the late Mary Bridget Bennett (nee Searson) and by previous marriage the late Rhoda Bennett. Loving father of Kathy O'Brien (Barry), Michael Bennett (Ann Lalonde), David Bennett (Beverly Hill), Steve Bennett (Kathy) and Rick Bennett (Tara Leblanc) and step children Dawn Donahue (Jim), Kerry Donohue (Nanci), Alanna Donahue (late Chris), Melanie Donohue (Rob) and Cara Cioffi (Carl). Caring grandfather of Erin (Christopher), Natalie (Jason) and Amy, Gregory and Julia, Laura and Craig, Lindsey (Jason), Phillip (Josie) and Haleigh, Amanda (Jake) and Shawn (Julie). Predeceased by grandson Michael. Sadly missed by many great grandchildren. Respecting Jim’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Pembroke on Saturday, June 1st, 2019 at 2 p.m. A Private Interment of Ashes and a Private Reception to follow.
