Sister Shirley Crozier

Sister Shirley Crozier (Sister St. Kevin) A Grey Sister of the Immaculate Conception, Pembroke, ON, died in Pembroke on the 9th day of May 2017 in the 71st year of her Religious Life. Left to mourn are the members of her Religious Community, her brother Carl (Myrna), sister-in-law, Helen, brother-in-law, Pat Brennan, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Robert James and Lyla Margaret (Shannon), her sisters Eileen Brennan and Helen Sanders and brothers, Robert (infancy) and Kevin Crozier. Sister Shirley was born in Pembroke on April 1, 1928. She entered the Community on September 3rd, 1946, pronouncing final vows on August 3rd, 1951. A graduate of St. Mary's School of Nursing, Sault Ste. Marie, in 1952, she served in various institutions - the Sault Ste. Marie General (including five years as Administrator), the Arbutus Nursing Home in Vancouver as Administrator, Coordinator of Health Care at Youville Residence, Vancouver, and Administrator of St. Anthony's Hospital, Esterhazy, SK. From 1985 to 2007, she volunteered as Assistant to the Administrator of St. Patrick's Home, Ottawa. Sister Shirley lived her final years peacefully at Shalom Residence. Visitation at Caritas Residence, 215 Deacon Street, Pembroke, ON, Friday, May 12, 2017 from 9:00-10:30 a.m., followed by Funeral Liturgy at Caritas Residence Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. Columba’s Cemetery.
