Obituary of Alice McKay McKAY: Alice Evelyn Mary (Formerly Alice Torrance & Alice Fox) We deeply mourn the loss of a strong, vibrant mother, grandmother, sister, and friend on Friday, October 23rd 2015, with her daughters at her side, of complications following heart surgery. Beloved Mother to Karen Torrance (Don Morrison), Jenny (Ron) Delahaye, Jane Torrance (Michael Kehoe) and Donald Torrance, and like-a-mother to Judy Shillington and Lisa (Rick) Lefley; proud Grandmother to Kirsten, Darcie (Dale), Jessie (Jim), Matthew, Emily (Tom), Gillian, Callaghan (Jordan) and Liam; loving Great-Grandmother to Calleigh, Mackenzie, Joshua, Madison, Kaylee, Malakai, and 2 more on the way. Survived by sisters Florence Facendi, Winona Crapp, Janet Daniels and brother Angus McKay and numerous nieces and nephews. Cherished Godmother of Vanessa Fox. Predeceased by her adored husband John Fox, by the father of her children Kenneth Torrance, and by her brothers Donald, Douglas and Neil; daughter of the late Donald and Janet McKay. Alice was born and raised in Bridgenorth, raised her own children in Smith Township, and has lived the past 26 years in Cavan Township. Alice was a member of the Century Club as a long time (retired) Peterborough Transit bus driver. Long-time member of RCL and LA (Bridgenorth, Peterborough, Millbrook). Friends may call at ASHBURNHAM FUNERAL HOME, 840 Armour Road, Peterborough on Monday, October 26, from 6-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 1-4 p.m. followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 4:00. Inurnment at Bridgenorth Cemetery at a later date.
