Obituary of Allen Bell BELL, Allen Edward "Duke" - Peacefully, at Peterborough Regional Health Centre, on Wednesday, April 20, 2016, in his 84th year. Beloved husband of the late Barbara Pauline (nee Reid) for 54 years. Loving father of Richard Bell, Stephanie Bolender, Richard Handy, Christine Handy and the late Patricia Greystock. Dear grandfather of Greg, Matt, Ryan, Christine (Marty da Silva), Kelly (Ray Culetta), and Jeremy Greystock (Victoria). Great grandfather of Alexander Greystock, Delaney Greystock, Luke McInroy, and Hunter Greystock. Brother of Valetta Parker and the late Ken Bell, Harold Bell, and Geraldine Bell. Allen will be remembered by many other friends and relatives. Allen was well known for his business, Bell Country D.J. Service, which he ran for countless years. He was a truck driver for Wonderbread before moving on to drive for, and retire from, National Grocers. A foster parent for over 40 years with the Kawartha Haliburton Children's Aid Society, Allen loved, supported, guided and directed many children. He and Barbara lost count of the numbers, but loved and cared for them all. Visiting will be held at the ASHBURNHAM FUNERAL HOME, 840 Armour Road, on Saturday, April 23, from 2-4 & 7-9, and on Sunday from 3-4 pm. The funeral will follow in the chapel, on Sunday at 4 pm.
