Obituary of Arthur Collver ARTHUR EDWARD COLLVER "Iron Rings and Other Things" Art Collver (born June 16, 1935 in St. Lambert, Quebec) died peacefully at 1pm on Wednesday, September 23rd, 2015. Living with cancer during the past five years, he outlived all medical expectations. With characteristic determination, he passed on his own terms, at home, surrounded by his family. A Queens University-educated Master of Applied Science in Engineering, Art represented the quintessential engineer. Sincere curiosity for everything that crossed his path was his trademark, both personally and professionally. A career in the textile industry was marked with innovation, discovery, technological development, and a love for solving complex problems. His impact on co-workers left indelible impressions that formed the basis of many friendships - his reciprocation of respect and admiration made these friendships lifelong, and lasting. Having grown up with loving sisters, Enid (Earl) and Doris (Dave), Art was exceedingly proud and supportive of his own family. Lyndsay (Scott), Robyn (Rob), Dean (Kelly), Brent (Julie), and their active families (including 10 wonderful grandchildren) filled Art with life and love on a daily basis. He made room for each person's individuality and fostered them, accordingly. Bringing about Dad's (Poppa's) infectious belly-laugh was a reward that was coveted by all. For over 56 years, Art and Vivian have provided an example of a strong marriage. Expressing equal parts friendship, partnership, and love, they have been a comfort and inspiration to those who have come in close proximity to their union. Art Collver will be truly missed. In moving forward, he will be continuously celebrated as having made a significant and lasting impression on those who knew and loved him.
