<p>Obituary of Brian McNeil</p><p> McNEIL, Brian John - Retired Toronto Police Officer with 32 years of service. Peacefully, with his loving wife at his side, at Peterborough Regional Health Centre, on Thursday, September 22, 2016. Brian of Peterborough, formerly of Toronto and Markham, in his 74th year. Amazing husband and best friend of Denise for 43 years. Survived by his brother Ian McNeil (Celia), and sister Wendy Russell (Bob). Much loved brother-in-law of Marg Hiebert (Frank Delemarre) and the late Joe Lloyd. Cherished uncle of John Hiebert (Janice), Julie Hiebert (Steve Vickers), Shane McNeil and Jason McNeil. Godfather of sixteen children. Awarded Medal of Merit for outstanding bravery as a Police Officer and chosen Police Officer of the Month for November 1977. Always thoughtful, kind, compassionate and funny, Brian was an all-round good guy. A friend to so many, young and old. Memorial visiting will be held at the ASHBURNHAM FUNERAL HOME & RECEPTION CENTRE, on Friday, September 30 from 5-8 pm. A Memorial Mass will be held at ST. ANNE'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 859 Barnardo Avenue, on Saturday, October 1, at 11 am. Reception to follow.
