Obituary of Darrell Dumaresq DUMARESQ, DARRELL FRANCIS - On Sunday, November 3, 2013 in Peterborough. Darrell, formerly of Toronto, born in Vancouver, B.C. A mass in Darrell's memory will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at St. Alphonsus Ligouri Roman Catholic Church, 1066 Western Avenue, Peterborough. Born in Vancouver, B.C., lived in Truro, Nova Scotia and Toronto, Ontario. Darrell is survived by his wife, Jo-Anne and his sister, Dorothy. He was the proud and much loved father of Michael (Pat), David (Amy), Anne Marie (Ian), Stephen (Michelle), Doug, Sara (Luke), Sam (Shae), Tameaka, Tonisha, and Mercedes. He leaves 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Darrell enjoyed a successful business career in the trucking industry that frequently took him coast to coast in Canada and the United States. A warm and friendly man, Darrell loved turning strangers into friends. He was an avid amateur chef with great pride in his maternal Italian heritage who loved to make delicious pasta dinners and baked treats like cookies and bagels. He spent a good part of his retirement doing what he loved--being a dad. He was a much loved foster father with Catholic Children's Aid of Toronto, where he opened his heart and home to many wonderful children and their families. He was a warm and loving man who believed that we all have an obligation to help one another and give back to our communities.
