Obituary of Derrick John Swinnerton Swinnerton, John Derrick – Peacefully with family by his side on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre in his 91st year. Beloved husband of Beverley Swinnerton for 60 years. Loving father of Daniel (Julie) and Leslie. Cherished grandfather of Ashton, Jay, Cecille and Allison. Proud great grandfather of Boris. Proud Uncle of Beverley Booth and Jody and Scott of Arizona. John will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends. A well-liked man, John worked hard throughout his life creating and restoring fine antique furniture. His reason for a very long life was hard work and always eating his brussels sprouts. He was a big leader and is now teaching other angels in heaven how to French Polish. A big thank you goes out to all of John’s friends and customers who were there and shared in the same passion for woodworking as he did. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Donations in memory of John to the Lakefield Animal Welfare Society would be greatly appreciated.
