After a 15-year battle with cancer, Don, in his 75th year, peacefully passed away at home in the arms of his loving wife and his family by his side. Loving husband to Joanne for 50 years. Devoted Dad to Chris (Jen) and Michael. Cherished Papa to Johnny, Connor and Lucas. Dear Brother to Keith. His loyal Berner Luna, will miss him dearly. As he was able to enjoy retirement for 27 years, including over 12 years in his perfect lakeview home, Don’s passions included his love of History and Model Soldiers that led to travels around the world with Joanne and his family. He was always friendly, loving and humble with friends and family alike; always ready to strike up a chat or have a drink. Don was a proud member of the OMSS, OARS and Community Care Chemung. The Ritchie family wish to extend a special thank you to Dr. Mallory, Dr. Hughes, the PRHC Palliative Care nurses and all Home Care Services and Agencies for your care and compassion. We would also like to thank everyone who supported Don along the way through his multiple battles with Cancer, as he is now able to eternally rest in peace.
