Obituary of Donald Wood WOOD, Donald Edwin - (Retired owner of Homestead Studios in Woodview and Wood Printing in Toronto. Don was an avid boater who spent his summers on the Kawartha Lakes and was an avid gardener and outdoor enthusiast). - Peacefully, at Empress Gardens, Peterborough, on Monday, September 23, 2013. Don Wood of Peterborough in his 83rd year. Beloved father of Cheryl Wood (Sam Eller) of Lakefield, Greg Wood and Wendy (Phil Reid) all of Peterborough. Dear grandfather of Sara Wood-Gates (Steve Black), Will Wood-Gates (Hayley), Jamie Lee (Scott Tompkins), Chelsea Knox, Emma Reid and Bentley Reid. Proud great-grandfather of Griffin, Adrianna, Sebastian and Andrew. Brother of Carol J. Martin of Tweed and Frank T. Wood of B.C. Don will also be remembered by Suzanne Stratton and Fran Ray. Don began his career as a Journeyman Printer for the British American Bank Note in Ottawa. He married Suzanne and moved his young family to Toronto, to start his own printing business. After some years, Don sold his business to his brother Frank, to move to the country, opening 'Homestead Studios'. Following Don's wishes, a Private Family Celebration of Life will be held.
