Obituary of Elizabeth Parker Parker, Elizabeth “Betty” (nee Stewart) – A resident of Peterborough Retirement Residence, she passed on Sunday, February 3, 2019 while in palliative care at the age of 92. She is survived by her husband Larry of 67 years, son Stephen (Christiane) of Buckingham, QC and her sister Irene McLean (Bob) of Ottawa. Predeceased by her parents Evans (Joe) and Lily, brother Frank Stewart (Barbara) and son Harry Evans (1995). Betty was born in Millbrook, Ontario and was raised in Peterborough where she went to public school and graduated from PCVS high school after which she worked at CGE in Peterborough. During this period, she was very active in various sports. In 49 – 50 she was a member of the Intermediate “B” Ladies Ontario Basketball Association Champions. She was married to Larry in 1951 and during their working time they lived in a number of cities and towns in Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba and Saskatchewan. During this time, they enjoyed travelling throughout the Canadian Provinces and Territories as well as the U.S., Caribbean, Great Britain, and Ireland. Upon retirement in 1988 they returned to the Peterborough area, spending winters in Florida and Portugal. Cremation has taken place and no service has been planned at this time.
