Obituary of George Carruthers Farquharson George Carruthers Farquharson (April5th1925 - Sept 28th 2018) Passed away peacefully after a great run. Doting husband to Jacqueline Marie (Ames)for 60 years. The most loving, kind, empathetic, warm andgentle father to CindyMacPherson (Don), Tim (Jen), Susan Vass (Len) and SaraTrafford (Mark) and many of their friends. Sweetest and most adored Papa ever to 13 grandchildrenand 3 great grandchildren. The grandchildren would await his call for the “joke of the day” and call him with their “joke of the day”when itwas a seam splitter.Predeceased byfather Percy (at a very young age) andhis motherRaechelwhom he worshipped and carried with him his entire life, siblings Robert, Billy, Douglas, Jack, Ida and Gordon who he loved and cherishedand missed after each ones passing. Dad was a wonderful Uncle to many nieces and nephews.Papa was the heart and soul of our family whose wisdom and caring for others shone in every room he entered and every conversation he was part of. Growingup, our doors were always open, everyone waswelcome; friend or strangerand all were equal. He was theworld’scheerleader,an engagedlistenerwho was quiet and humble - never wanting praise or thanks.Heled a selfless life, with none of us havingrecollectionof him doing anything for himself.Family is what he cherished most and he exuded warmth and interest in others at any gathering or event.Dadloved being in the background watching the beautiful danceof life appear before him.He needed no attention but was always concerned about anyone left alone or seeming out of place. His favourite place to be was at “the farm” with the warmth and love of God’s greatest gifts of nature andthose he held closest to his heart. His spirit lives on and is expressed in every act of kindness, smile to someone who really needs it, every gentle word and every helping hand. He was our hero and the world was blessed to have been touched by his grace. A special Thank you to St. Josephs at Fleming for their care and compassion and also to Trudy hisdevotedcaregiver and “angel”who was sentfrom the heavensto look after himand Mom. We are truly blessed. Cremation entrusted to Community Alternative Funeral Home. A private family celebration of a wonderful lifeat “the farm” will be heldat a later dateas per Dad’s request. In lieu of donations as George would always say, “Be kind to one another.”
