Obituary of Gordon Fredrick Shannon Shannon, Gord (Sporto), passed away September 22, 2018 at the PRHC after a tough battle with liver cancer. He leaves his wife of 48 years Lynda (nee Blair). Loving Father of Craig (Sara) and Christopher (Ty-Leigh). Loving Grandfather to Oliver, Charlotte, Darwin and Alice. Dear brother of Geraldine and the late Marelene. Dear son-in-law of Levina Blair. Predeceased by his parents Clifford and Hazel Shannon. Gord was born in Peterborough and trained as a Forest Technician at Sir Sanford Fleming College in Lindsay. He was an Entrepreneur in Oshawa before retiring to the Kawartha region. Gord valued his friendships and was very thankful for all of the support from Brenda and Larry Smith, Maralyn and Edward Fife, Maureen and the late Peter Jackman, Peter and Rhoda Wendt, Pat and Ken Cornyer and all of his Tully Crescent Neighbors. Gord often talked about his ideal childhood in East City and still has many long term friendships. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Gord’s life will be held on Thursday September 27th from 1-4PM at The Publican House at 292 Charlotte Street in Peterborough.
