Obituary of Gordon William Starr STARR, Gordon W.H. “Gord” – Passed away peacefully, with his family at his side, at Peterborough Regional Health Centre, on Thursday, February 15, 2018. Gord of Peterborough, in his 80th year. Beloved husband of Donna (nee Mason) for 46 years. Loving father of Mary Jo Starr, Sue Shaw (Donny), and step-father of Jim Jobbitt (Carolyn) and Brian Jobbitt (Nancy). Dear grandfather “Gramps” of Russell Wilkes, Jessica and Michelle Jobbitt, Tony Leith (Caryn) and Danny Jobbitt (Brittney Marrott). Loving brother of Dorothy Long (late Don), Donald Starr, Audrey Alldred (Pat), Barbara Tarkington (late Ross), Gerald Starr (Carol), Judy Vilneff (Jim) and the late Kenneth Starr (late Sharon). Loving brother-in-law of Yvonne Lapp (late Harold), Marie Brady (late Bob), Fred Mason (Pat) and Ralph Mason (Sue). Predeceased by parents Doug & Pearl Starr. Gord will be remembered by many other relatives and friends. A retired firefighter who served the City of Peterborough for 30 years. Gordon also worked as an electrician and home builder. Gord and Donna owned a motor home and travelled together to places far and wide, spending many winters in Florida. Gord always enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and showed he loved them in many ways. Visiting will be held at the ASHBURNHAM FUNERAL HOME & RECEPTION CENTRE, 840 Armour Road, on Thursday, February 22 from 5-8 pm, and on Friday, February 23 from 11 am until 12 noon. The memorial service will take place in the Chapel on Friday at noon, with a reception to follow.
