Obituary of Ivan Lloyd Harvey Harvey, Ivan Lloyd: Peacefully with his family by his side, on Thursday, October 26th, 2017, at the age of 89 years young. Ivan was the devoted husband of the late Faith Harvey and cherished father to Marilyn Harvey-Heinz (Don Heinz) and Richard (Candace) Harvey. Grandfather to Crystal Harvey (Chris Marshall) and David Harvey (Laurie Thompson). Great-grandfather to Charlotte and Ethan Jones, and Calvin, Hope and Abigail Harvey. Ivan is predeceased by his parents Scott and Mable Harvey, brothers Raymond, Wallace, Gerald (Nila), and sister Leona (Truman). Ivan grew up & studied in Kirkland Lake and in 1949 he began his apprenticeship for Johns Manville as a maintenance electrician. His career spanned over 4 decades working with Wright Hargreaves Gold Mines & Bidwell Goldmines in Kirkland Lake, Hershey's Chocolates in Smith Falls, Bicroft Mines, the DEW line, and finally found his way to General Electric in Peterborough in 1963. Ivan retired from G.E. in 1991.Through the years Ivan built 2 homes for his family & helped with electrical & wood projects in many homes of family & friends. No job was too small or too big! With his profound faith in God, he was honoured to work on two churches most notably building the cross and parish furniture at Calvary Pentecostal Church, Peterborough. Ivan went onto start his own business, Ivan's Urn's. A measure of a life is the love you leave behind, and Ivan will be remembered lovingly by his family and many friends and those who met him in passing as Ivan was one who truly knew no strangers. The family will be hosting a Celebration of Ivan's Life for his 90th birthday on Saturday, May 26th 2018. Save the date!
