Ivana Seibert Obituary

Obituary of Ivana Seibert SEIBERT, Ivana Eva Peacefully on March 24, 2020 at Hospice Peterborough at the age of 81. Loving wife of the late Vladimir “Larry”. Beloved mummy of Laura Carey, Dennis (Kim), Renata (Joe) Seibert-Sullivan and stepmom of Len Brant. Cherished G-ma of Savannah Gibson-Seibert and Kendal Neuman. Beloved sister to her siblings Dunja Satinová, Eva Ipothova in Slovakia and Ivan in Alberta. We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beautiful mother (mummy) at Hospice Peterborough. We feel blessed to have had the month that we were given with her at hospice where she could comfortably feel our showers of love every moment she was there... it was a true gift for our family. Our mother was truly one of a kind and there was no one quite like her. She was full of life, the biggest heart, so loving and caring, and more honest than anyone we have ever known. As a dear friend once said, she didn’t mince words and we appreciated that more and more as we understood how real she really was. She was a genuine person who always stood behind her values. Family and friends were so important to her and she always put everyone else first and was there to help in any way she could. Although she never loved to cook, she was exceptionally good at it and made sure that every family meal was something that family and friends looked forward to. She loved to garden and you could happily find her sitting in one of them at 601 Wilson making sure it looked beautiful. She helped her children keep their gardens beautiful up until a couple of years ago. She also loved to knit and made sure family and friends had an ample amount of dish cloths, hats and mitts on hand at all times and also worked diligently to ensure that many newborns at Lakeridge had a beautiful hat for their first trip home. Her smile lit up a room and her laugh was beyond contagious. She would have you laughing with her unmatched sarcasm, humour and sass:) Her friends and co-workers at Chrysler will remember her singing Happy Birthday to them in Chinese. We can hear it now. Because nothing embarrassed our mother, we can write that while she worked at Chrysler she always carried an extra pair of underwear on hand as she would constantly laugh so very hard. People were always attracted to our mother's out-going, friendly charm, and we are sure that anyone who had the pleasure of meeting her, or knowing her, feels lucky and honoured. Our mom was a strong cookie having to endure hardships throughout her life and then ultimately with cancer, but through it all, she never lost her “oomph” and remained positive every single day. We will miss you dear mummy and feel your strength now and forever. Rest in Peace our angel. We are presently not able to hold a celebration of life so our wish until we can is that on this Sunday, March 29th at 12pm noon, those who knew and loved her could light a candle with her photo and think of her. If you cannot be with a candle or a photo of our mom, we hope you can think of her at that time so she feels us collectively. Thank you so much for your love. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Lakeridge Cancer Centre or Hospice Peterborough would be appreciated. Please see more photos in comments area
