Obituary of Jack Thompson Thompson: Jack E., B.Sc. P.Eng (University of Toronto 1952) Peacefully at the PRHC on Sunday, December 28, 2014 at the age of 88. Jack beloved husband of Doreen (Machin) for 63 wonderful years. Dear father of Vicki (Lorne) Allen, Glenn (Karen), Lori Unger (Sam McCulloch), and Bruce (Krista). Adored Grandpa of Luke, Carlie, Jeremy (Britni), Jordan, Jennifer, Sarah (Dane) Brown, Jacob, Sydney, Stephanie, and Kyle. Great-Grandpa to Leyla, Jackson, Roman & William. Brother of Doreen Higgerson of Oakville. Cherished son of the late Andy (1969) & Margaret (1987). Jack was a devoted family man, generous, caring, giving & always there for his family. A devoted member of Northminster United Church (since it first opened 1958) and served in many capacities in the Church administration. Jack was a committed volunteer to church hockey, coaching for over 20 years and helped out at many minor hockey tournament events in Peterborough. He had a passion for helping others and his humor was second to none. Those who knew him will say he was always good natured, friendly & never said an unkind word about anyone. A quiet, gentle man who was a role model and a source of pride for his whole family. Jack will be missed by all who knew him.
