Obituary of James Lynn Thain Thain, James Lynn - On Wednesday, October 2, 2019, Lynn passed away peacefully at Peterborough Regional Hospital surrounded by his four loving children, in his 87th year. Lynn was preceded in death by his loving wife Betty of 25 years and Mabel of 10 years. Also preceded by father Walter Thain of Campbellford, mother Alma Gummer of Norham and brothers Robert and Murray Thain of Peterborough. Dear father of Steve Thain, Cindy (Brendan) Rutledge, Deanna (Dave) Wheeler, Debbie (Eric) Pinkney, Jamie Thain and stepdaughter Patti (Den) Doleman. Cherished grandfather of Chad, Kyle, Shannon, Kaitlin, Justin, Sara, Riley, Emma and Bailey. Proud great grandfather of Rory, Fionn, Patrick Isabella and Levi. He was a professional driver for most of his life and retired from Purity Packaging to spend time at the trailer surrounded by old and new friends. He reconnected with a young love from the past, Betty who was his partner of 25 years. Special thanks to Dr. Bishop, Dr Brown and the entire ICU staff at Peterborough Regional Hospital for all their support, excellent care and continued compassion. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Peterborough Lions Community Centre, 347 Burnham Street, Peterborough, Ontario on Sunday November 24, 2019 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. If desired donations may be made to the Peterborough Alzheimer’s Society.
