A friendly guy who would cut your lawn, shovel your snow, visit and make you laugh. - Peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, at PRHC Palliative Care, with his family at his side, on Tuesday, August 20, 2013, in his 76th year. John, best friend of the late Elizabeth Hemstead (nee Wilson). Loving father of John "Jr.", and Karen Townsend (John). Dear Papa of Patricia, Amanda, Kaitlyn and Mikey, with a great-grandchild on the way. Brother of Ted Hemstead (Zita), Bruce Hemstead, James Hemstead, Lian Couper (James), Loretta Hoshowski and the late Charles Hemstead. A Celebration of John's Life will be held at the COMMUNITY ALTERNATIVE FUNERAL HOME - ASHBURNHAM CHAPEL 840 Armour Road (Just north of Parkhill), on Friday, August 23, 2013 at 4:00 pm.
