Judith Wannan Obituary

Obituary of Judith Wannan Judith Marion Wannan (Hull) Born May 5th, 1953, passed away on Friday, August 19th, 2011 after a feisty battle with cancer. Judi had a vibrant and carefree outlook towards life, with a contagious sense of humour which she was fortunate enough to retain right up until the end of her life. Judi was the treasured mother of Jesse (Jessica) and Kaley. Judi is predeceased by her parents Don and Thelma, husband Doug and sister Shirley Anne. She is survived by her sisters, Donna O'Leary, Sharon Watmough (Wayne), Mary Nisbett (Mike), and Cathy McMillan. 'Uncle Judy,' is fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews. As well as being a wonderful mother and reigning Weslemkoon scrabble champ, Judi was the surrogate mother to many Trent University students. Judi made sure everyone got their veggies at dinner. Judi shared many laughs and memories with her co workers at Aramark. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Gillis Doyle and the wonderful nurses that cared for Judy in palliative care. Services will be held at the Community Alternative Funeral Chapel, 83 Hunter Street West (at the bridge). Visitation will be held on Monday, August 22nd, from 7-9, and Tuesday, from 1-2, followed by a Memorial celebrating Judi's life at 2 p.m. If desired, directions to the visitation and service, and donations to the PRHC Foundation Courtyard Project or the Canadian Cancer Society may be made at www.CommunityAlternative.ca or by calling Community Alternative Funeral Home at 705-742-1875.
