Obituary of Judy Heffernan HEFFERNAN, Judy Lynn (nee Chartrand) - Passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on July 25th, 2013, at the age of 61 after a brief battle with cancer. Beloved wife of Roy. Loving mother of Charlina Westbye (David) of Cavan, and Shanna Mavilio (Peter) of Boston, Massachusetts. Cherished grandmother of Toby and Heidi Westbye, and Sophie and Isabelle Mavilio. Dear sister of Michael (Dale) Chartrand, Pat (Bonnie) Chartrand, Jeanne (Dan) Callaghan, Cindy (Brent) Youmans, Jimmy (Tammy) Chartrand, and the late Bobby Chartrand, Peggy Hawkes (surviving husband Dan), and Caroline Chartrand. Predeceased by her parents John and Marion Chartrand. Dear sister-in-law of Marlene (Bill) Vankatwyk, Pat (Carol) Heffernan, Irene (Daryl) Rutt, Ed (Nancy) Heffernan, David (Deanna) Heffernan, Terry (Lisa) Heffernan, Michael (Mary Catherine) Heffernan, and Mary Anne (Dan) Burnie. Judy will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Judy was the General Manager of the Greater Peterborough Community Futures Development Corporation (CFDC) for 16 years and a devoted Eaton's employee for 23 years. Judy was an active member of the Peterborough and area business community having volunteered her time on many Boards and Committees including the City of Peterborough's Community Grant Committee; the Trent University Continuing Education Committee; the Peterborough Partnership Council on Immigration Integration; various Greater Peterborough Chamber of Commerce committees; was a board member of the Canadian Canoe Museum, was involved with The Examiner's "Women in Business"; and was an active member of the local Women's Business Network. Judy also served as the Vice Chair of the Ontario Association of Community Futures in Ontario. A celebration of Judy's life will be held at COMMUNITY ALTERNATIVE FUNERAL HOME - ASHBURNHAM CHAPEL 840 Armour Road, on Saturday, August 3rd, 2013 at 1:00 pm.
