Obituary of Kathleen Ward Ward, Kathleen Joyce Augusta (nee Rea) 1922 - 2015. The beloved daughter of Robert Arthur and Margaret Rea (nee Beall), born March 9, 1922 in Regina, SA. Loving wife of Kenneth (predeceased 1973), sister to Alice Mackie (predeceased 1996), brothers Arthur (predeceased 2001) (Lyn) and Billy (Maria) Rea. Beloved mother to Ray (Janice) Ward, Keene, ON and Betty Leeland (late Maynard), Abbotsford, B.C. Kay was raised in Belwood, Grand Valley and Orangeville before attending Toronto Normal School to become a teacher. She married Kenneth July 4, 1942 in Claremont, ON. Together they operated businesses in the community until his tragic death in 1973. Kay had a winter home in Florida and a summer residence in Keene near her family. When assistance became necessary in 2008 she moved to Centennial Place in Millbrook, where she peacefully passed June 2, 2015. Many thanks to the dedicated and loving staff for her care. Following cremation, Kay will be interred in Claremont Union Cemetery. You are invited to join the family for a Celebration of Life to be held June 20, 2015, 11 a.m. - 2:00 p.m at Ashburnham Funeral Home, 840 Armour Road, Peterborough, ON.
