Obituary of Kirk Robert Schlechter SCHLECHTER, Kirk Robert - On Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at his home in Peterborough, Kirk was promoted to heaven where he is now face to face with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. An asthma attack took him but the Angels brought him home. Kirk lived in many places from Oshawa, Edmonton, Mississauga, Niagara, Lindsay and finally Peterborough where he lived in his 43rd year. Kirk will be remembered as a beloved husband and best friend to Korrilyn (nee Ball) for 20 years. Amazing father of Isaak and Hannah - for his family was his heart. Son of the late Karen Ottenbrite and Heinz Schlechter. A wonderful brother of Kevin (Ryanna) and brother-in-law of Karrilee McPherson (Graham). Much loved uncle of Noah, Jonah, Caleb, Jeremiah, and Seth. Kirk will be remembered by extended family, Gene, Jamie, Wayne, and Brad and many other relatives and friends. As an ordained minister with Eagle Worldwide Ministries and as the Associate Pastor of Refinery Church in Peterborough, Ontario, Kirk focused his message on soul wounds, healing and faith. Kirk's divine assignment was to see people set free and live that freedom in it's entirety. His legacy of freedom will live on in the countless lives that have been healed, touched and changed through his ministry, He had a passion for basketball, riding his motorcycle and eating chocolate mint ice cream. Known by many nicknames, such as 'Gum Chewer', 'Mister Clean', 'Cricket', and others. A private graveside service will be held at Lakeside Cemetery. A public celebration of Kirk's life will be held, place, date and times to be arranged. Arrangements entrusted to Community Alternative Funeral Home.
