Obituary
Obituary of Leo Patrick Grattan Boyle BOYLE, Leo Patrick Grattan - died as he lived: quietly, peacefully, and enveloped in the love of his family. Though his cancer was aggressive and the fight all too brief, his sense of humour, his gratitude, and his concern for others never once wavered. For the entirety of his 63 years, Leo treated everyone with respect & kindness, even on his darkest of days. Not out of duty, but because it was woven into every fibre of his being. Regardless of his accomplishments, he was a humble man struck with awe and wonder, overwhelmed by the kindness of others and the beauty of the world. He taught us many things: there is more value in listening than in speaking. Kindness doesn't cost you anything. Always say please & thank you. Play the cards you're dealt. Leo will be missed greatly; by his family, his friends, his colleagues, and anyone who ever had the blessing to encounter him. He found a partner and best friend in his wife, Carmen. He found pride and joy in his 4 children and his 16-month-old grandson. He found comradery in his 5 siblings, and fulfilment in his 27 years at Ross Memorial Hospital – especially in this last year as regional CFO to RMH and Northumberland Hills Hospital. We who knew him found love in his smile and his words, which we will cherish forever. Please join us to celebrate Leo's life at 2:30pm on November 5th at Ashburnham Funeral Home, with words of remembrance to begin at 3:30pm. Memorial donations may be made in his honour to the RMH or NHH foundations, or to the Kawartha Haliburton Children's Aid Society. More than anything though, we ask that you honour his memory by just being kind – for no reason and to everyone you meet. It's what Leo would have done.
