Obituary of Leslie Payne PAYNE, Leslie Ernest. (Veteran of W.W.II, serving with Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers. Past Director and Member of Kiwanis Club of Scotts Plains for over 26 years. Retired from G.E. Canada after 31 years of Service.) Peacefully at Extendicare Peterborough, on Saturday, November 30, 2013. Les Payne of Peterborough in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of the late Ellen Mae (Mackness) and the late Jean (Hickson). Step-father to Diane English of Collingwood (the late Joe English). Step-grandfather to Jim English (Michelle) of London, and Andrea English of Barrie. Step great grandfather to Briana, Joshua, Clayton, Alexander and the late Noah. Brother of the late James Payne, Leonard Payne, and Dorothy Day. Les will be remembered by his best friend Whilemina Overvliet , several nieces, nephews, and many other friends and neighbours. Friends will be received at the COMMUNITY ALTERNATIVE FUNERAL HOME - Ashburnham Chapel, 840 Armour Road from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 11, 2013.
