Obituary of Louis Moores MOORES, Louis - (WWII, Korean War Veteran - P.P.C.L.I. Paratrooper) Passed away at the Peterborough Hospital on April 11th, 2011 at the age of 84 after a courageous battle with leukemia. Born in Markstay, Ontario on December 11, 1926, to Eugene and Winifred Moores. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy Moores. Loving Father of Gary (Diane), David (Shelly), Roy (Linda), Brian (Carol), Judy (Stan), Martin (Eileen), Ted (Joan) and Glenda (Keith). Cherished grandfather of 21 grandchildren. Proud great-grandfather of 13. Dear brother of Fred, Harold (Edna), Hazel (Alexander), Bill (Mona), Don (Vi), Victor (Eva), Jerry (Emily) and Cecil (Millie). Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. A man of faith and an active member of the Seventh-day Adventist church, allowing scripture to dictate his road map. An avid outdoorsman and story teller. A hard working man serving in various jobs; a supervisor at the Malleable Iron Company, a truck driver for Maracle Press, a road maintainer, a house farmer, a land fill operator (keen on salvaging) and perhaps one of his most important services', his contribution to Canada in WWII and The Korean War. A memorial service will be held at Peterborough Seventh-day Adventist Church 649 Romaine Street, Peterborough on Friday April 15th at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice may be made at www.CommunityAlternative.ca or by calling COMMUNITY ALTERNATIVE FUNERAL HOME at 705-742-1875.
