Obituary of Mary Caldwell MacLaren Pardy PARDY, Mary Caldwell MacLaren (nee Tosh, formerly Halden) "Myra" – Passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 8, 2017, surrounded by her family at Royal Gardens. Myra of Peterborough, formerly of Whitby, Etobicoke, and Port Glasgow, Scotland, in her 89th year. Myra was the dear wife of the late Bill Pardy and the late Russell Halden. Dearly loved and devoted mother of Russell and Janice Halden of Peterborough, and Norma and John Glenn of Arizona. Step-mother to David and Jackie Pardy of Toronto and Diane and Grant Waddingham of Oakville. Cherished Grandma of Shane and Blake Halden of Peterborough and Mackenzie Glenn of Arizona. Step-Grandma of Erin, Samantha and Lauren Pardy of Toronto and Kyle and Alicia Waddingham of Oakville. Myra was the cherished daughter of the late Mary and Joseph Tosh. Beloved sister of Allan Tosh of Scotland, and the late Robert Tosh (surviving wife Willa), Joseph Tosh (surviving wife Lynne), and Nancy Baird (late husband George) all of Scotland. A graduate of the Ontario College of Teachers. Long-time member of Hillsview Presbyterian Church, Etobicoke and St. John's Anglican Church, Whitby. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, hairdresser, teacher, a good friend to many, an avid tennis player and always had a good joke to share. A celebration of Myra's life will be held at St. John's Anglican Church, 150 Victoria Street East, Whitby, on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at 1 pm with visiting one hour prior (noon-1 pm). Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family wish that donations be made to the Alzheimer Society of Peterborough or the Kidney Foundation of Canada. Donations and condolence messages may be made at the funeral home website: www.AshburnhamFuneral.ca. A 'special thanks' to Lorna (Niece) and Eric Cotter for their assistance.
