Obituary of Maurice Lemay Whiteside WHITESIDE, Maurice Lemay – Suddenly at Peterborough Regional Health Centre, on Monday, March, 19, 2018, in his 91st year. Maurice, a retired Peterborough Fire Fighter, is survived by his loving wife Josephine (nee Smith) of 63 years. He is the dear father of Jeff (Cindy), Joanne (Dave) and Marilyn (Guy). Proud grandfather of Andrew (Krystina), Jon (Kate), Dan (Rachel), Nick (Jessica), Spencer (Meaghan), Sebastien and Simon. Great grandfather of Austin, Garrett, Emerson, Harlow, Maddie, Jacob, Deacon, Aubrey and Brantley. Pre-deceased by his parents Willis and Amelia, and his brother Glenn. Maurice is survived by his sister-in-law, Bess McIlwain, and nieces Glenda and Melody, and many other relatives and friends. Maurice was a very patient man, who loved his family and always put them first. Among his other interests were driving and the outdoors. He spent many enjoyable years as a coach bus driver. A memorial reception will be held at Ashburnham Funeral Home, 840 Armour Road, on Friday, March 23rd from 11 am until 1 pm with words of remembrance at 12 noon. Interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bethany, will take place in the Spring. Donations in memory of Maurice, can be made to a charity of your choice at www.AshburnhamFuneral.ca.
