Obituary of Merlyn Ross Dicks Dicks, Merlyn Ross - On Wednesday July 25th, 2018, Merlyn Ross Dicks, beloved husband of 51 years, father of three and grandfather of nine, passed away at home at the age of 76. Merlyn was born on August 2nd, 1941 in Wards Harbour, NL and was raised in Springdale, NL. On July 1st, 1967 Merlyn married Thelma Beatrice (nee Cummings). Proud father of three children, Michael (Wanda), Marnie (Bojay) and Rebecca (Andrew). Merlyn worked at Unimin mines in Nephton, ON for 23 years and was a restaurateur for 17 years of the Crossroads Cafe in Havelock, ON. Merlyn was a proud Newfoundlander who had a passion for history, photography, music, poetry, and literature. Predeceased by father Allan, mother Dorothy Osmond (Nee Coombes) and siblings, Albert and Roma-Jean. Survived by his loving wife Thelma, his three children, nine grandchildren (Jamie, Curtis, Bella, Isaac, Charlotte, Rhedyn, Samuel, Madelyn, and Kimberley) and his siblings; Georgina, Gerald, Pansy, Linda, Roger and Wanda. Merlyn will be dearly missed and will forever live in our hearts.
