Obituary of Myrtle Lowes LOWES, Myrtle Helen "Myrt" (nee Smith) - It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Myrt Lowes at her residence on Sunday, January 26, 2014 in her 70th year. After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Myrt was finally able to be at peace, in her home, surrounded in the last weeks by all who loved her. She will be greatly missed, always loved and never forgotten by her husband of 46 years, Gord; sons Mike (Carole) of Maple ON, Ian (Michelle) of Peterborough, and Andrew (Maria) of Calgary AB.; grandchildren Ben, Brad, Emma and Sophia. Myrt's sisters Debbie Mahaffy (Dan) and Jocelyn Smith were by her side as her biggest supporters, trusted allies and loving friends. She is predeceased by her mother Alice and father Howard Smith, brother John Smith, and nieces Tammy Smith and Leslie Mahaffy. Her courage, compassion and love of life were beyond compare and will be her lasting impression to all who knew her.
